Connecting the Dots: Thoughts on Jung's Psychological Type of Extroverted Intuitives

Extroverted Intuition Feeling Perception is my "backup" mode in Jung's Types, my auxiliary function (I am INFP.). Even though I am typically an introvert, I often act like I am an ENFP, and feel like I alternate between both Types. However, the extroverted AUX function sometimes steps up to the plate socially when an introvert cannot do so.

As for extroverted intuitiveness, Jung makes several statements that seem to coincide with the notion of connecting the dots--some in a positive light and some in a negative light.
In a positive light, Jung stated that this type can use sensations as "starting points" for his perceptions; this is much like a child who is about to start a connect-the-dots activity getting a sensation from the abstract image on the page and beginning to guess what it is; then, Jung says this type is "striving to reach the highest pitch of actuality" (p. 367 para 612) which the child does when actually connecting the dots and seeing it take shape, which I liken to how Jung in the previous module's readings said that artists are extroverts, meanwhile finding "...the range of possibilities" perhaps while guessing...Jung puts a negative spin on this however when he says that these discoveries of possibilities to this type of person "become nothing" but "stepping stones" (p.368, para. 613) to be forgotten and discarded later and he even later refers to the "cold-bloodedness" of these types in doing so; however, I think this too sweeping a statement, too generalized: when I do research and I find some wondrous connection between an image and a myth, I do not  burn the bridges (Jung also calls them bridges) but respect the archetype and symbol and meaning of the bridge as it is felt in my life...when I play a composition by Chopin, I connect the dots with each the notes played that make the entire work come beautifully together. I think I have a very healthy respect for the dots like those that make up an impression--or impressionist painting.
I think I reach out to the sheet music in front of me as if Chopin's handwriting or even himself is right there in front of me. I reach out to objects--yet am intuitive, as when I "read" the music I go into dialogue with the composer.
